Sheezan Khan and Falaq Naazz open up about their strained bond with sister Shafaq Naaz and its emotional toll on their mother.
Sheezan Khan and Falaq Naazz have shed light on their strained relationship with their sister, Shafaq Naaz. While their dynamic seemed stable amid Sheezan’s legal challenges, recent developments have reignited tensions. In a candid interview, the siblings expressed their disappointment and frustration towards Shafaq, highlighting a significant incident involving their mother’s health.
During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Sheezan and Falaq described the emotional burden of caring for their mother, who had succumbed to severe depression. They depicted her as becoming increasingly fragile and in need of unwavering support. Sheezan pointed out that the stress stemming from his legal issues had played a tragic role in her deteriorating health, causing her to abandon her prescribed medication.
The siblings noted that their mother’s despair was intensified by her longing for Shafaq. Both Sheezan and Falaq confirmed that the entirety of the family was aware of the mother’s declining health. When asked about Shafaq’s neglect, Sheezan stated, “She chose not to talk to us. She chose not to stay in touch.” Falaq added that their mother was particularly wounded by Shafaq’s public claim of being the “neglected” child, which they asserted was unfounded given their mother’s efforts to treat all her children fairly.
Though acknowledging Shafaq’s right to distance herself, Sheezan expressed dismay that she had not remained in contact with their mother. He recounted a time after their mother’s knee surgery when she reached out to Shafaq, only to feel disappointed by their cold interaction during a ten-day hospitalization period.
Falaq mentioned her attempts to mend the relationship between Shafaq and their mother during this critical time. However, Sheezan revealed that Shafaq had refused to engage when they tried to involve her during their mother’s hospitalization. “When mom was hospitalized, we called Shafaq, and she refused to get involved,” he said, expressing how this decision impacted his feelings about her. “Then a person loses respect,” he added, affirming that he had indeed lost respect for his sister, stating firmly, “Haan, gir gayi, definitely (Yes, definitely).”
