Manhunt Initiated in Middle Tennessee Following Disturbing Discovery
A manhunt is currently taking place in Middle Tennessee after a welfare check on Tuesday afternoon in Robertson County uncovered a troubling scene, prompting lockdowns at several local schools.
Authorities were dispatched to a residence on Fisher Grove Road, where they discovered a deceased male, as confirmed by Jessica Drake, Public Information Officer for the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident may have stemmed from a domestic altercation involving a stepfather and stepson, although details regarding the cause of death and the duration of the victim’s condition remain unclear.
Police are actively searching for Jimmy Anthony Cox, identified as a person of interest in this case. Reports suggest that he may be navigating the area on foot.
In response to the situation, four schools in Robertson County were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure. “Our main concerns arose during dismissal times. Upon the recommendation of the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, we had to suspend several bus routes to facilitate ongoing searches in certain locations,” explained Danny Weeks, the Director of Robertson County Schools.
Weeks further elaborated that parents were informed about the situation, allowing them the option to either pick up their children or keep them at school until it was safe. He noted that law enforcement would assist with police escorts for school buses operating in affected areas.
Weeks visited each of the lockdown schools — Watauga Elementary, Greenbrier Elementary, Greenbrier Middle, and Greenbrier High — during dismissal and reported a smooth process. Families received messages keeping them updated on the situation.
Authorities have described Cox as a potentially dangerous individual and have advised the community to remain vigilant, lock their doors, and be cautious in their surroundings. He is described as approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing around 175 pounds, with blue eyes. He is bald, has multiple tattoos on his arms, and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black shorts. Anyone who encounters someone fitting this description is urged to contact 911 immediately.
This incident marks the second fatal shooting reported in the greater Nashville area on the same day, with an additional investigation ongoing in the Berry Hill neighborhood, believed to be linked to a disturbance around The Mall at Green Hills.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates as new information becomes available.
