Shilpa Shirodkar left the entertainment industry for marriage in 2000, guided by her mother’s belief in timing.

Shilpa Shirodkar, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry during the late 1980s and 1990s, first gained recognition with her debut film, Bhrashtachar, released in 1989.

In a recent conversation during her participation in Bigg Boss 18, Shilpa elaborated on her decision to step away from acting to embrace married life. She expressed a strong sense of fulfillment regarding her choice, echoing her mother’s perspective that life unfolds according to the right timing. Shilpa believes that all experiences lead to a meaningful journey, and she appreciates the path she has taken.

Reflecting on her journey, Shilpa stated, “I got married in 2000, and my mother always believed that everything should happen at the right time because then you miss the boat. The entire life then you complain I couldn’t do this or that or I could have done this or that. So it was necessary for me to move on, and the next step for a girl at 26-27 was marriage. I got married. I was very happy to leave the industry and get married.”

Shilpa emphasized that she has never regretted her decision, as her trust in her mother’s guidance played a significant role in shaping her choices. She described marriage as a fulfilling path for her, even though she never intended to leave India permanently. However, she acknowledged that fate had different plans for her.

She remarked, “There was no regret; I always listened to what my mom used to say. I always felt whatever decisions she took for me would be correct. The decision was to get married, and I never wanted to leave India, but as I said, destiny always has some other plans. It was in my destiny that I moved out of India, and that’s the reason I couldn’t continue to work here. I moved completely to be a homemaker.”

Shilpa’s presence on Bigg Boss 18 captured the hearts of many viewers over her 102-day stint on the show. Unfortunately, she was evicted just before the finale, which resonated deeply with her fans and fellow contestants. Among the final six contestants were Karan Veer Mehra, Vivian Dsena, Chum Darang, Eisha Singh, Avinash Mishra, and Rajat Dalal, with Karan ultimately clinching the title.

Her last notable film appearance was in Gaja Gamini, directed by MF Hussain, where she starred alongside renowned actress Madhuri Dixit.
