Calgary Expo Celebrates Fans and Fandom at BMO Centre
The Calgary Expo is in full swing at the BMO Centre, captivating thousands of attendees with its vibrant array of activities and guest appearances.
On Friday, the streets downtown buzzed with excitement as the Parade of Wonders took a new route, beginning at Haultain Park and winding through Centre Street and 17 Avenue before concluding at the BMO Centre.
“This is an annual tradition for many families — children have grown up with this event and now they’re bringing their own kids along. It’s simply remarkable,” remarked Mayor Jyoti Gondek. Known for her commitment to bringing flair to the parade, this year she dressed as Thor.
“The Calgary Expo ranks as the second largest event Calgary hosts, surpassed only by the Calgary Stampede, and the energy you can feel here is invigorating,” Gondek added, highlighting the enthusiasm surrounding the occasion.
Each genre of pop culture was represented, with fans of all ages donning costumes of their favorite characters, eager to meet celebrities.
