After a strong opening, Salman Khan’s Sikandar faces a box office slowdown, earning Rs 5.75 Cr on day 5 amid stiff competition.
Sikandar made its theatrical debut on March 30, 2025, generating notable initial interest among audiences.
Though the film, starring Salman Khan, greatly impressed at the start, its box office collections have shown a decreasing trend. After five days, Sikandar recorded earnings of approximately Rs 5.75 crore in India, across all languages, leading to a cumulative net collection of Rs 90 crore for its first week, as reported by Sacnilk.com.
By the following Tuesday, according to evolution of box office figures, the film totalled Rs 74.50 crore within India, while its global collection reached Rs 123.75 crore. Of particular note, the overseas market significantly contributed, generating Rs 88.75 crore.
Initially, the film’s creators celebrated a worldwide gross of Rs 105.89 crore just two days post-release. However, challenges have arisen, including unauthorized leaks online and a spectrum of mixed reviews from critics that may affect audience turnout.
A.R. Murugadoss directs this action-thriller, which boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Suniel Shetty, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, and Sharman Joshi. The narrative centers around Salman’s character, Sikandar, who embarks on a relentless quest for justice while safeguarding the three individuals who received organ transplants from his deceased wife.
The competition for audience attention has been fierce, with other major releases such as Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan captivating viewers and challenging Sikandar’s box office performance.
Before the film’s release, Salman Khan encouraged fans to support not only Sikandar but also the competing films, expressing hope that the festive mood surrounding Eid would lead audiences to the theaters. He stated, “I am hoping people get good bonuses on Eid so they can watch Sikandar, Mohanlal sir’s L2: Empuraan, and also Sunny Deol’s new film (Jaat). Three big stars are coming with big films, and I hope all work.”
As the film’s box office momentum begins to wane, its ability to regain traction amidst the ongoing competition remains uncertain as it heads into the subsequent days.
