Recent Updates on Sikandar’s Censor Board Clearance
The film Sikandar recently achieved a significant milestone by receiving clearance from the censor board, following some minor edits prompted by the examining committee.
Shortly after it was announced that Sikandar, featuring Salman Khan, secured a U/A certificate, news broke that the film’s duration has been reduced by 14 minutes and 28 seconds through voluntary cuts made by its producers.
According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, a total of 26 scenes were altered. Notably, a scene containing the phrase “Offer aukat ke bahar tha” was among those trimmed. Other significant cuts include a scene with the line “Chaar miss call…chalo Rajkot” which was reduced by 2 minutes and 26 seconds, along with a 1-minute and 12-second scene featuring “Usse leke aata hoon” and a 4-minute scene with “Aa gaye aa gaye…bad husband,” both of which were omitted entirely.
Additionally, a sequence showcasing Salman Khan singing “Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh” was cut down by 11 seconds. Moreover, lines such as “Yeh sirf sample tha” were also shortened by 40 seconds. The total length of the film after these cuts stands at 135 minutes and 47 seconds.
On the same day, it was reported that Sikandar faced some censorship requests, leading to the removal of the term “Home” from references to the “Home Minister” in the dialogue. Visuals of a political party hoarding were also directed to be blurred.
Sikandar is a notable venture under Sajid Nadiadwala, directed by AR Murugadoss. In addition to Salman Khan, the cast features prominent actors such as Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj. The film showcases impressive cinematography by S. Thirunavukarasu, with editing led by Vivek Harshan. The music score, composed by Pritam and featuring lyrics by Sameer, is complemented by a background score from well-respected South Indian composer Santhosh Narayanan.
Sikandar is slated to be released in theaters on March 30, aligning perfectly with the festive celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr.
