Warda Khan Engages with Salman Khan Fans Amid Backlash for ‘Sikandar’
Recently, the release of Sajid Nadiadwala’s film, Sikandar, sparked significant conversation online, particularly as box office expectations were not met. Warda Khan, Sajid’s wife, found herself defending the film on social media against disappointed Salman Khan fans.
As viewers expressed their discontent regarding the film’s performance, Warda took to X (formerly Twitter) to advocate for Sikandar. However, her efforts were quickly met with harsh criticism from the fanbase of Salman Khan, who expressed their frustrations about the film’s reception.
In the heat of the online exchange, some fans went as far as to accuse the producers of neglect, with one comment stating, “Have some shame, or would you not stop until you destroy Salman Khan’s career?” Others questioned her integrity, suggesting she was out of touch with the fans’ sentiments.
Warda responded to one particularly disparaging remark, calling her a “J*ahil aurat,” with a pointed retort, “Get well soon.” This back-and-forth quickly gained traction on social media, especially on Reddit, where users circulated screenshots of the interaction. Despite the viral nature of these exchanges, Warda has since removed many of her original responses.
In a reflective moment on social media, Warda shared a message that read, “Yass Muddai lakh bura chahe toh kya hota hai wahi hota hai ho manzure Khuda Bhagwaan God hota hai” and included a link to her post.https://t.co/lLQvAQLcho
The reactions on Reddit have been polarizing. Some users condemned Warda for her seemingly inappropriate replies, while others defended her, asserting that Salman Khan should be the one held accountable for the film’s outcomes. One user shared their perspective, stating, “She had nothing to do with the movie. It is Salman who chose the script and director. It is on him. But these fans can’t call him out.” This highlights the complex dynamics of fan loyalty and accountability within the film industry.
Despite the backlash, Warda remains committed to promoting Sikandar positively. She enthusiastically reshared a fan’s appreciation post, which read, “Sikandar just owned every fan’s heart,” adding her own commentary: “Yoo-hoo, Sikandar ka fans ke dillon pe raaj.” Warda also expressed confidence in the film’s future performance by supporting optimistic earnings predictions, stating, “Jawaan audience ka karara Jawab.”
Initially released on Eid, Sikandar had an opening day earning of Rs 26 crore. However, it faced challenges sustaining its momentum amid unfavorable reviews. As of now, the film has grossed Rs 84 crore in the Indian market over four days, with a total worldwide collection of Rs 141.15 crore in just three days.
