Fans of the popular series will undoubtedly remember the passionate romance of Kathani Sharma and Anthony from Bridgerton Season 2. There is palpable excitement as audiences anticipate the return of fan-favorites Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey in the fourth season. In a recent interview, Ashley expressed her enthusiasm for stepping back onto the sets of the beloved series, created by Chris Van Dusen, and discussed the chemistry she shares with Bailey.
During a conversation with People magazine at the New York City premiere of her film Picture This, Ashley reflected on her joy about returning to the show, stating, “Time doesn’t move [there] as much as outside.”
Ashley described the Bridgerton set as a homecoming and a “comfort zone” for the cast. When asked whether her chemistry with Bailey would be as strong as in the earlier seasons, she confidently affirmed it, describing their connection as “effortless.”
The duo previously garnered attention for their captivating performances in the second and third seasons. While their romance was central to the narrative in Season 2, Season 3 shifted focus to the relationship of Nicola Coughlan’s Penelope Featherington and Luke Newton’s Colin Bridgerton. Nonetheless, in the upcoming season, viewers are eager to see the return of Ashley and Bailey’s romantic dynamic, despite the primary storyline centering on Yerin Ha and Luke Newton’s characters.
On her professional front, Ashley’s latest film, Picture This, was released on Amazon Prime Video on March 6, 2025. In this British romantic comedy, she not only stars but also serves as an executive producer, with direction by Prarthana Mohan. Besides her role in Bridgerton Season 4, Ashley is also involved in F1 and This Tempting Madness, which are currently in post-production.
In terms of her personal life, the British actress has recently confirmed her split from boyfriend Tino Klein. In an appearance on BBC’s Woman’s Hour podcast, she shared that her current focus is directed towards personal growth and her acting career, humorously noting, “It’s kind of ironic that I’m promoting a rom-com while entering my single era as of January this year.”
Meanwhile, Jonathan Bailey is also busy with future projects, appearing in two films scheduled for release in 2025: Jurassic World Rebirth, where he plays Dr. Henry Loomis, and Wicked: For Good, taking on the role of Fiyero, both of which are in post-production.
