On Wednesday, renowned U.S. Olympic athlete Simone Biles took to social media to express her views regarding the recent election outcomes.
Following the announcement of former President Donald Trump‘s win over Vice President Kamala Harris in both the popular vote and electoral college, Biles made a direct appeal to President Biden on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, encouraging him to “make things shake” during his remaining time in office.
Biles has been unafraid to share her opinions about Donald Trump in the past, particularly in response to his remarks regarding the employment situation for Black Americans.

During the recent election cycle, Biles maintained a relatively low profile concerning political commentary. However, she did take subtle jabs at Trump, particularly referencing his controversial statement during a debate where he claimed illegal immigrants were “taking Black jobs.”
Trump’s comments, which failed to recognize the specific challenges faced by Black communities, sparked backlash, including from Biles, who responded with a tweet saying, “I love my Black job.”

Following her defeat to Trump, Kamala Harris addressed a gathering of supporters and students at Howard University. Her concession speech was marked by an optimistic tone, despite the loss.
“My heart is full today – full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country and full of resolve,” she stated, emphasizing her commitment to the fight for freedom, which defined her campaign. “While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fuelled this campaign,” she asserted, urging her audience to continue striving for a better future. “You have power. You have power.”
In her compassionate message, Harris remarked, “I know many people feel like we are entering a dark time, but for the benefit of us all, I hope that is not the case. But America, if it is, let us fill the sky with the light of a brilliant, brilliant billion of stars.”

As the nation prepares for this transition, Trump is set to take the oath of office during the inauguration, ceremonially held on January 20, as outlined in the Constitution’s 20th Amendment.
