Transformative Upgrades Planned for Singapore Airlines Lounges at Changi Airport

Travelers passing through Singapore can look forward to improved lounge facilities as Singapore Airlines prepares to renovate its lounges in Terminal 2 of Changi Airport. The significant refurbishment will commence in April 2025 and is scheduled for completion by mid-2027.

The project includes a substantial investment of $45 million and aims to expand the available lounge space by 50%. To ensure minimal disruption to travelers, the renovations will be executed in carefully planned phases.

Yeoh Phee Teik, the senior vice president of customer experience at Singapore Airlines, highlighted this initiative, stating, “This significant investment underscores Singapore Airlines’ unwavering commitment to elevating the end-to-end travel experience for our customers.” He also emphasized that the new offerings will build on the success achieved at the Terminal 3 lounges, enhancing the distinctive hospitality and amenities offered in Terminal 2.

Highlights of the Lounge Overhaul

The upgrades to the lounges will feature several exciting amenities. The First-Class SilverKris Lounge is set to include live cooking demonstrations showcasing a variety of cuisines, including Singaporean, Asian, and Western dishes. Additionally, travelers can expect a self-service buffet and the availability of baristas during the morning hours for a refreshing coffee experience.

In the Business-Class SilverKris Lounge, guests will find an expanded interior with more diverse seating options aimed at enhancing comfort. The lounge will also feature a larger self-service buffet, a full-service bar with signature cocktails available during the evening, all designed to create a luxurious environment for passengers.

Furthermore, the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will introduce in-lounge shower suites, providing an opportunity for travelers to rejuvenate before boarding their next flight.

Changi Airport: A Global Benchmark for Travel Facilities

Changi Airport is globally recognized for its exceptional facilities, recently earning the title of best airport in the world for 2025 by Skytrax, a respected air travel rating organization. This accolade highlights the airport’s diverse attractions, including a ten-story shopping center, lush tropical gardens, and a captivating indoor waterfall.

Beyond the airport, Singapore itself is renowned for its tropical climate, delectable culinary scene, and premium accommodations, such as the Capella Singapore, offering visitors a luxurious retreat amid the bustling city.

As these upgrades take shape, Singapore Airlines is ensuring its lounges meet the evolving expectations of modern travelers, reaffirming its commitment to providing a top-tier travel experience.
