In a recent display of audacity, YouTuber and professional surfer Jacob “Zeke” Szekely made headlines for attempting to ride a surfboard down the snowy slopes of Big Bear Mountain, despite being asked to leave the premises for his unconventional stunt.
Zeke, known for tackling some of the most formidable surf conditions globally, including legendary spots like the Banzai Pipeline in Hawaii, decided to take his surfing skills to a different venue—snow-covered slopes.
Initially, Zeke was seen riding a snowboard, but he soon opted for the surfboard, attaching it to himself with a long strap as he prepared for the snowy descent.
“Do you think it’s gonna work?” Zeke asked his skeptical friend, who responded with a blunt “No.” Undeterred, he donned sneakers instead of proper ski boots, which proved to be less than ideal for gripping the icy terrain.

As Zeke attempted to showcase his surfing tricks on the snow, he quickly took a tumble, underscoring the challenges posed by the untraditional setup. Just as he began to get the hang of it, an employee from the ski resort interrupted his fun.
“We got a call, and unfortunately, it’s for you,” stated one staff member, while another chuckled and added, “We died laughing, dude,” while escorting Zeke off the slopes.
However, Zeke exhibited a remarkable spirit of persistence. Ignoring the staff’s attempt to send him off, he plotted a stealthy return. Crouching beneath a fence, he re-entered the snow-laden terrain to make one last attempt at executing tricks.
“Are you serious? I’m right here. Do you see me?” he engaged with an employee who expressed skepticism about his antics, while still noting Zeke’s capability to perform stunts.
Defying orders, Zeke successfully navigated the slope and completed his run, later expressing his intent to return for more sessions. “So we got shut down, but we’ll come back. We’re gonna get permission from PR,” he stated excitedly to his camera crew. “We’re going to try the big jumps, the halfpipe, and the boxes!”
The YouTuber’s thrilling endeavors received positive feedback from his audience, who encouraged him to produce more engaging content like his latest winter surf session. However, the timeline for obtaining further permission to use the halfpipe remains uncertain.
