Skullcandy Unveils Method 360 ANC Earbuds with Bose Collaboration

Skullcandy has solidified its reputation in the audio market with budget-friendly earbuds that consistently deliver decent sound quality. The latest addition to their lineup, the Method 360 ANC earbuds, debuts at a promotional price of $99.99, which will eventually rise to $129.99. This places them among the higher price range of Skullcandy products, but the collaboration with Bose aims to enhance comfort and sound quality significantly.

Similar to the Motorola Moto Buds Plus launched last year, the Method 360 ANC utilizes licensed technology and audio tuning from Bose. According to a press release from Skullcandy, these earbuds promise to provide “Skullcandy’s most advanced audio experience to date.” They come equipped with three sizes of ear gels and fit fins, which are designed to offer a secure fit while effectively isolating external noise.

While the Method 360 ANC may not compete directly with the audio and active noise cancellation capabilities of Bose’s top-tier QuietComfort Ultra earbuds, they offer a substantial cost advantage of nearly $200, making them an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers.

Unlike the traditional clamshell charging cases that are common among most wireless earbuds, the Method 360 ANC boasts a unique sliding case design. This case features an O-ring clip reminiscent of a carabiner, enhancing portability. While it may not be the most compact case on the market, it extends the earbud battery life significantly, from 11 hours to 40 hours of playback, or from nine hours to 32 hours when active noise cancellation is enabled.

The earbuds come in five stylish color options: black, bone, primer, plasma, and leopard. They are also equipped with a sophisticated four-microphone hybrid ANC system, which includes a Stay-Aware mode to amplify surrounding sounds. Additionally, a low latency mode helps keep audio synchronized during gaming or while watching videos.

For added functionality, the Method 360 ANC includes wear detection that automatically connects the earbuds to your device and pauses playback when they are taken out. The multipoint pairing feature makes it easy to switch between devices seamlessly. With an IPX4 water resistance rating, these earbuds can withstand sweat and light moisture, although they are not intended for underwater use. They support Spotify Tap and Google Fast Pair, and connect seamlessly with Skullcandy’s Skull-iQ mobile app, allowing users to customize shortcut functions and equalizer settings.
