The event, hosted by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music, is scheduled for April 26 at Monmouth University in New Jersey. Presenters will include Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, Steven Van Zandt, and Nils Lofgren. Tickets will be available for purchase starting March 25.

Robert Santelli, the founding executive director of the Bruce Springsteen Archives, commented, “This year’s honorees represent a cross-section of American music. Rock, Americana, soul, and country are all included, spotlighting some of the most influential artists across these genres. We look forward to celebrating their remarkable achievements as they join the American Music Center family.”

Despite their diverse musical styles, these honorees share a profound influence on Billboard charts and the overall landscape of American music history.

Smokey Robinson’s role as the leader of The Miracles set the standard for the Motown sound, driving some of the label’s earliest successes. With tracks like “Shop Around,” which became Motown’s inaugural million-selling record and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960, Robinson’s legacy as a creator remains paramount. His later solo work, including the 1981 hit “Being with You,” also distinguished itself by climbing to No. 2 on the Hot 100, showcasing his sustained relevance.

John Fogerty is celebrated for his extraordinary work as the frontman for Creedence Clearwater Revival. The band is recognized for having the highest number of No. 2 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 without ever securing a No. 1 spot, featuring enduring classics such as “Proud Mary” and “Bad Moon Rising.” Fogerty’s solo career has also been noteworthy, as evidenced by his 2013 album Wrote a Song for Everyone, which hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Tom Morello, famed as the guitarist for Rage Against the Machine, significantly reshaped rock music. The band’s influential debut album released in 1992 reached No. 45 on the Billboard 200 but gained iconic status, while subsequent albums Evil Empire (1996) and The Battle of Los Angeles (1999) struck the top spot on the Billboard 200.

Emmylou Harris, a towering figure in country and Americana music, has celebrated multiple No. 1 albums on the Top Country Albums chart, including Luxury Liner in 1977. Her impactful single “Together Again” also soared to No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, highlighting her lasting resonance in the genre.

Joe Ely, an innovator in progressive country music, has seen several albums make notable entries on the charts. His 1981 album Musta Notta Gotta Lotta peaked at No. 135 on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 12 on the Top Country Albums chart. Subsequent works like Twistin’ in the Wind and Streets of Sin maintained his legacy, solidifying his status as a stalwart in the country genre.
