A first look at the new cast members of the Broadway production of The Great Gatsby has been unveiled, featuring Michael Maliakel, Linedy Genao, and Austin Colby. They join existing performers Ryan McCartan, Sarah Hyland, Terrence Mann, Samantha Pauly, and Charlie Pollock in this much-anticipated show, which is currently being staged at the Broadway Theatre.
At its core, The Great Gatsby tells the story of the enigmatic millionaire Jay Gatsby, who relentlessly seeks to rekindle a romance with his long-lost love, Daisy Buchanan. The addition of this new principal cast coincides with the centenary celebration of the original novel, which was published in 1925.
The musical commenced its Broadway previews on March 29, 2024, and celebrated its official opening night on April 25, 2024. It features renowned stars Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada, leading an extravagant production praised for its visual opulence. According to the Washington Post, the show promises an experience where “a cascade of visual splendor showers the eye.” Before its Broadway debut, the musical had its world premiere run at the Paper Mill Playhouse from October 12 to November 12, 2023, where it set a record as the highest-grossing show in the venue’s history. This initial production not only broke the box office record for ticket sales in a single day but also sold out its entire performance schedule prior to opening.
In its New York run, The Great Gatsby has continued to break records, achieving the highest weekly sales at The Broadway Theatre in both 2024 and 2025.
