Notably, Emily Fink, Justin Gregory Lopez, and others serve as understudies in this dynamic production.

Initially presented Off-Broadway by Audible Theater, Dead Outlaw has been a standout this awards season, sweeping multiple accolades including ‘Best Musical’ at the Drama Desk Awards and the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards, among others.

The creative team behind Dead Outlaw includes Ani Taj (choreography), Arnulfo Maldonado (scenic design), and Sarah Laux (costume design), alongside Heather Gilbert (lighting design) and Kai Harada (sound design). Additional contributions from J. Jared Janas (hair and wig design) and Dean Sharenow (music supervision) enhance the production’s overall aesthetic. Rebekah Bruce leads music direction, with orchestrations by David Yazbek, Erik Della Penna, and Dean Sharenow. Casting has been managed by Tara Rubin Casting/Peter Van Dam, CSA, and Cynthia Cahill acts as Production Stage Manager.

Dead Outlaw delves into the darkly comedic and richly creative narrative of Elmer McCurdy, a notorious outlaw whose posthumous adventures eclipse his life’s escapades. The musical portrays a vibrant exploration of themes related to fame, failure, and the intricate nature of legacy itself, suggesting that the act of dying holds as much potential for remarkable stories as living.
