Samsung Rolls Out April 2025 Update for Galaxy S25 Series in the U.S.
Following the release of the April 2025 software update for the European version of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has now made the update available for U.S. factory-unlocked models of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. This latest update brings a host of new features along with essential security patches, weighing in at approximately 700MB. The specific firmware versions for the devices are as follows:
- Galaxy S25: S931U1UEU2AYD9
- Galaxy S25+: S936U1UEU2AYD9
- Galaxy S25 Ultra: S938U1UEU2AYD9
To initiate the update process, users should navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install on their Galaxy S25 series devices. Currently, the update is available for factory-unlocked models in the U.S., but Samsung plans to expand the rollout to additional regions soon.
The update not only enhances the aesthetic of the battery charging animation, making the battery icon in the status bar appear smoother, but it also introduces a significant change by moving the media player widget to the notifications area from the Now Bar on the lock screen and the Quick Panel page. Additionally, it incorporates security updates related to the April 1, 2025 security level.
Moreover, alongside the April software update, Samsung is rolling out the stable version of One UI 7.0, built on Android 15, to several other devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in certain markets. Notably, the Galaxy S25 series launched with One UI 7 and Android 15 pre-installed back on January 22 of this year and became available for purchase on February 7.
In addition to the improvements mentioned, this update enhances the stability of Galaxy devices, contributing to improved performance and security. While this update arrives late in the month, it is worth noting that the May update is expected to follow closely behind in just a week or two. Given that the Galaxy S25 series is Samsung’s flagship line, it is likely to receive priority for the upcoming May update.
