Sonam Kapoor offers a heartfelt birthday tribute to her brother-in-law, Anant Ahuja
Sonam Kapoor recently celebrated her brother-in-law Anant Ahuja’s birthday with a warm tribute on Instagram, sharing a selection of candid photos and a touching video. In her post, she affectionately mentioned that Anant is among the “favourite people” of her son, Vayu. The video showcased the pair engaging in a playful interaction, highlighting the special bond they share. Accompanying this adorable clip were several images capturing moments like Anant feeding Vayu and reading a storybook to him.
Additionally, Sonam included photos of Anant with her and her husband, Anand Ahuja, as well as a lively selfie with Arjun Kapoor, Anand, and Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. In her heartfelt message, Sonam expressed her admiration for Anant. “Happy happy birthday to the best brother-in-law. A do-gooder who makes music…How perfect is he ladies!! Who also happens to be my sounding board…Much love always to one of Vayu’s favourite people, Anki chachu,” she wrote.
This isn’t the first time Sonam has publicly celebrated Anant’s birthday; she has a tradition of sharing sweet social media posts each year. Last year, she shared a touching image of Anant reading to Vayu, with a heartfelt message reflecting on the values she hopes Vayu inherits from his uncle. “Happy happy birthday to the best brother-in-law! Love you Anant Ahuja. I hope Vayu learns from your curiosity, kindness, and empathy. Love you,” she noted at that time.
Recently, Sonam and her husband made headlines with their acquisition of the iconic music store, Rhythm House, located in Mumbai, for ₹47.8 crore. Established in the 1940s, the store is situated in the cultural hub of Kala Ghoda and spans over 3,600 square feet. It closed its doors in 2018 due to the financial troubles of its previous owner, Nirav Modi.
On the cinematic front, Sonam is gearing up for her next project, “Battle for Bittora,” an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s 2010 novel. The film, which has been secured by her sister, Rhea Kapoor, will be produced through the Anil Kapoor Films Company. The storyline follows an animation specialist who unexpectedly finds herself in a political race against a former royal during the elections in Bittora.
Discussing her upcoming role, Sonam expressed enthusiasm about portraying a character beloved by many readers. “I’m going to do ‘Battle for Bittora’ next year, finally. That’s a beloved character, and while I think a lot of girls from our generation know about the book, I don’t think the younger generation is as familiar with it. So, we have the advantage of that,” she shared during a recent event at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival’s market initiative, Word to Screen.
