Sonic Expands Menu with New Dipping Sauces and Jr. Chicken Sandwiches

Sonic Drive-In has introduced two enticing new dipping sauces that promise to enhance the flavor experience for fans of its French fries. The new offerings, Jalapeño Ranch and Asian-Style Sweet Chili, were revealed by the fast-food chain on Monday, providing customers with exciting new options for their favorite side.

The Jalapeño Ranch sauce is described as a “fiery remix” of a classic favorite, blending the creamy texture of ranch with the spicy kick of green jalapeños. Sonic aims to deliver a spicy, herby, and creamy dipping experience with this innovative flavor. On the other hand, the Asian-Style Sweet Chili sauce brings a unique combination of sweet and spicy notes, featuring ingredients like soy sauce, sesame, garlic, and ginger that create a bold flavor profile.

Sonic has also announced improvements to some of its existing sauces, including their Ranch, Honey Mustard, and BBQ Sauce, enhancing them to deliver an even more flavorful experience with each dip.

“We recognize that our guests enjoy customization, and the new Jalapeño Ranch and Asian-Style Sweet Chili dipping sauces allow them to explore different flavor combinations that reflect their preferences,” noted Mackenzie Gibson, the vice president of culinary and menu innovation at Sonic. She emphasized how these sauces provide added versatility, suggesting they can elevate beloved menu items like Tots and Premium Chicken Bites.

Furthermore, Sonic is not stopping with just the new sauces. The fast-food chain is also revamping its $1.99 menu, affectionately termed its “FUN.99 menu.” This includes the introduction of two new Jr. Chicken Sandwiches: the Original Jr. Chicken Sandwich and the Honey Chipotle Jr. Chicken Sandwich. Both sandwiches feature lightly breaded chicken and shredded lettuce on a toasted bakery bun.

The refreshed $1.99 menu will also include Queso Wraps, available in Bacon Ranch and Southwest Crunch varieties, along with other items such as French Toast Sticks, Small Groovy Fries, and Small Floats (including popular drink options like Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper, Barq’s Root Beer, and Fanta). Customers can now find these new sauces and menu items both in-store and via the Sonic app.
