The North American Tour of Monty Python’s SPAMALOT is set to kick off at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio, with tech rehearsals beginning on December 1.

Book writer and lyricist Eric Idle expressed his excitement about the tour’s initiation in Cleveland, recalling his own experience of being dismissed from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for suggesting The Rutles be inducted. He anticipates a vibrant start to the holiday season filled with spectacle, joy, and laughter as they embark on this nationwide journey.

This tour follows a successful Broadway revival last spring and is scheduled to visit over 30 cities in its inaugural year. Among the cities included are Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, San Francisco, Seattle, and Atlanta, with additional locations to be confirmed soon. Details regarding the cast will be revealed in the fall. For more insights, visit www.spamalotthemusical.com.

Originally debuting on Broadway in 2005, SPAMALOT is based on the iconic film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, featuring a book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John Du Prez and Idle. The initial production received critical acclaim, earning fourteen Tony Award nominations and securing three wins, including Best Musical. The tour will be directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes, who previously held similar roles in the Broadway revival.

The production team is comprised of notable talents including scenic and projection designer Paul Tate DePoo III, costume designer Jen Caprio, lighting designer Cory Pattak, sound designers Kai Harada and Haley Parcher, along with wig designer Tom Watson and music supervisor John Bell. Casting is handled by Geoff Josselson, CSA, and RCI Theatricals serves as the General Manager.

SPAMALOT promises an array of comedic elements, featuring flying cows, formidable rabbits, British royalty, and the iconic Lady of the Lake, alongside memorable musical numbers like “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” and “Find Your Grail.” These songs have solidified their place as treasured pieces within the musical theatre repertoire.

Ambassador Theatre (Broadway)

Ashley Graham has made her Broadway debut as “Roxie Hart” in Chicago, a musical renowned for its work by Fred Ebb, Bob Fosse, and John Kander. This production, now the longest-running American musical in Broadway history, transports audiences to the roaring 1920s, telling the tale of a housewife and nightclub performer convicted of murder. In her quest to evade punishment, Roxie manipulates public opinion and media through sensationalism, drawing parallels with contemporary tabloid culture.
