Stassi Schroeder Returns to Reality TV with ‘Vanderpump Villa’

Stassi Schroeder has made headlines with her anticipated return to reality television after exiting the Vanderpump Rules series in 2020. Her journey began in Season 1 alongside then-boyfriend Jax Taylor, where she joined other original cast members including Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz, and Scheana Shay. While pursuing projects like her podcast, Straight Up With Stassi, she recently announced a reunion with Lisa Vanderpump on the upcoming season of Vanderpump Villa.

During an appearance on Good Morning America on April 23, Schroeder and Vanderpump shared insights about their participation in the second season of Vanderpump Villa. This season will showcase the lives of staff members at a 12th century Italian castle.

Schroeder reflected on her decision to return to reality television, stating, “I’ve spent most of my, actually all of my adult life on reality TV. It just feels like home. It’s the only talent I feel like I have actually. And when Lisa said, come do this with her, I’m like, ‘Oh with Lisa and then in Italy… I get to bring my kids, I get to bring my family—medieval castle, it’s just everything.’”

Vanderpump humorously noted the ease of convincing Schroeder to join, revealing, “Stassi loved Italy anyway. She got married in Italy, and you’ve always wanted to live there. Well, you’re going to see that story play out.”

In a joint interview with Vanderpump, Schroeder conveyed her seamless transition back to filming, remarking, “Honestly, it really just felt normal. I know I’ve been away for so long, but I feel like I’ve been doing reality TV since I was 16 years old. It feels more right to me when I’m shooting something.”

As fans eagerly await the new season, both women discussed how their relationship has evolved since their time on Vanderpump Rules. Vanderpump reflected on the shift in their dynamic, explaining, “I thought that there was also a different energy between us because prior to that, I mean it’s many years ago, I was always her boss and chastising her. So to actually come into a reality television [setting] with a different equation felt kind of like we could be this close together.”

Schroeder concurred, noting that the experience is “way less stressful” than in the past but still carries the desire to impress Vanderpump: “There is always that element of, Lisa will always be somebody who I hope to impress, who I hope is proud of me and my choices.”

Fans can catch the premiere of Vanderpump Villa Season 2 on April 24 on Hulu.
