The duo poignantly captures the essence of longing and reconciliation in their duet, singing, “Maybe forgiveness will ask us to call, someone we love, someone we’ve lost for reasons we can’t quite recall, maybe this Christmas.” This Americana-infused track encapsulates the yearning to reconnect with those dear to us during the festive season.
“Maybe This Christmas” follows a previously successful collaboration between Jason Kelce, his brother Travis Kelce, and Boyz II Men, titled “It’s Christmastime (In Cleveland Heights).” Both tracks will feature on the upcoming album A Philly Special Christmas Party, the third charitable compilation from The Philly Specials, which includes Jason alongside fellow Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackles Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata. Last year’s project, A Philly Special Christmas Special, notably garnered more than $3 million for charitable causes and included popular holiday hits like “This Christmas” and “Fairytale of Philadelphia.”
Proceeds from the sales of the vinyl will benefit various local organizations, including the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center’s Holiday Toy Drive, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Snowflake Station, and the 87 and Running Foundation, among others that support youth initiatives throughout Philadelphia.
Mark your calendars for November 22, when A Philly Special Christmas Party is scheduled for release. In the meantime, enjoy the heartfelt collaboration of Jason and Nicks with their rendition of “Maybe This Christmas” below.
