Following a successful debut of Stree 2, fans argue over credit for its popularity.

The recently released film Stree 2 has made quite an impact at the box office, accumulating an impressive ₹60 crore in India shortly after its premiere. This success has sparked a lively debate among fans of its stars, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, regarding who should receive more recognition for the film’s achievements. The situation intensified when Aparshakti Khurana referred to the discussions surrounding credit as a “PR Game” during an interview with Zoom, igniting further discussions among fans.

Adding their voices to the debate, co-star Abhishek Banerjee and director Amar Kaushik have also weighed in, with Amar revealing that he reached out to Aparshakti for clarification following the uproar over credit claims.

In a candid conversation with Zoom, Amar spoke about the dynamics within the cast and the nature of their discussions, stating, “We had a video call laughing off the situation after the credits controversy escalated online.” He emphasized the strong bond among the cast members, highlighting their open communication and mutual support. He noted, “Whenever there’s an issue, we address it directly. This controversy seems to be more fabricated by fans. When audiences see a film succeed, they naturally want to champion their favorite stars. While this can lead to disputes among fans, it inadvertently helps boost the film’s viewership.”

Describing his conversation with Aparshakti, Amar recounted, “I called him up after his comment, asking, ‘What was that all about?’ He reassured me, ‘I didn’t mean to cause any trouble; you know my humor!’ He admitted that his intention was not to seem serious this time, and he simply forgot to add humor to his remarks.” Amar characterized Aparshakti as a candid individual who prefers to express his thoughts openly rather than hold back. He described the actor’s predicament as being caught in the midst of a fan rivalry.

Reflecting on the overall success of Stree 2, Amar asserted that credit should be shared among all those involved in the production, beyond just the leading actors. He pointed out, “Numerous talented professionals contribute to a film’s success, including the directors of photography, sound designers, and music directors. The film’s promotion and soundtrack have played vital roles in its appeal.” Amar humorously suggested, “Feel free to continue the credit debate as long as it helps the film reach ₹1000 crore at the box office.”
