The 2024 European Innovation Procurement Awards (EUIPA) are now accepting entries. This year marks the fourth edition of the awards, organized by the European Commission, and offers six prizes distributed across two categories.
The ‘Facing societal challenges’ category recognizes innovation procurement initiatives that contribute to Europe’s transition to a Net Zero economy. Meanwhile, the ‘Innovation procurement initiative’ category is open to procurement efforts that address other types of challenges. Winners in each category will receive €75,000, with €50,000 awarded to the runner-up, and €25,000 for third place.
Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, commented, “The European Innovation Procurement Awards celebrate visionary procurement practices that meet the needs of today and pave the way for a more innovative tomorrow. These awards highlight the best in public and private sector innovation by showcasing how creative solutions can tackle urgent challenges, support the growth of innovative companies, and improve lives. I encourage all innovation-minded individuals and organizations that have engaged in innovation procurement to apply for the European Innovation Procurement Awards to inspire greater innovation and collaboration across Europe.”
The deadline for applications is 26 September 2024, 5pm CET.
