Suits LA: A Nostalgic Return Falls Short
Suits LA has finally brought back a character many fans were eagerly anticipating: Gabriel Macht reprising his role as Harvey Specter in the episode titled “Batman Returns.” This moment bridges the spinoff with its predecessor, Suits, adding an emotional layer for longtime viewers. However, the enthusiasm is dampened by the fact that “Batman Returns” is largely a lackluster installment in the series.

The Moment Everyone’s Been Waiting For: Harvey Specter’s Return
The episode opens with Ted Black visiting a diner where his brother, Eddie, is employed. During this visit, Ted encounters Pellegrini, the mob boss he’s been working to take down, leading to concerns for Eddie’s safety. Later, as Ted struggles during a softball game, he finds a familiar face in Harvey, who offers him support during a post-game gathering.
In their conversation, Harvey warns Ted about rumors suggesting that Pellegrini has informants in his office. The two share a lighthearted banter involving a playful nod to their superhero personas, referring to each other as Batman. Given the actor’s role in another superhero series, it might have been amusing to directly reference that connection.
The flashback sequence also highlights Ted’s rocky relationship with Samantha Railsback. As Ted prepares for his game, he notices an offer letter for Samantha from a California law firm. Although she declares her intention to stay in New York to be with him, her subsequent departure suggests otherwise, indicating that her commitment has diminished due to Ted’s obsession with battling Pellegrini.
Ted and Erica Make Big Moves on Lester’s Case
Ted learns that the studio behind Lester Thompson’s film wishes to remove his name from the credits. Samantha represents the studio, and tensions arise as Ted argues that the studio has no legitimate claim, citing Lester’s breach of the morality clause in his contract. If this matter escalates to court, evidence that could jeopardize Lester’s ongoing murder trial may surface.
As Ted seeks assistance, he and Erica decide to confront Lester, who is adamant about keeping his name attached to the project, stating it represents his pride. Together, they petition the court to expedite Lester’s murder trial, although the state’s prosecutor, Elizabeth Smith, expresses her discontent with this rush.
To combat Elizabeth’s tactics, Ted approaches Amanda Stevens for support. When Ted returns to the courtroom, Elizabeth surprises everyone by announcing a mystery witness, thus extending the investigation. Amanda steps in with crucial evidence revealing that Elizabeth has previously played similar tricks, which prompts a standoff when Elizabeth declines to disclose the witness’s identity. Grateful for Amanda’s intervention, Ted rewards her with a larger office later.
Continuing to protect Lester’s interests, Ted serves Samantha with an injunction, pausing any actions by the studio. However, Samantha reveals her knowledge of Lester’s misconduct, leading Ted to realize the urgency of resolving the studio dispute. He and Erica approach Bill, the head of the studio, who expresses his disdain for Lester and remains stubborn. In a last-ditch effort, Ted bluffingly claims that his A-list clients will withdraw their involvement if Lester’s name is removed, successfully convincing Bill to retain it.
Stuart and Rick Deal With a Famous Client
As Samantha navigates her conflict with Ted and Erica, she delegates Rick Dodsen to assist Stuart Lane with a high-profile case. The famed actor Enrico Colantoni, known for roles in Veronica Mars and Galaxy Quest, faces charges of trespassing after his antics lead to an unusual neighborhood feud. The two lawyers quickly realize that the road to a confession will not be smooth, resorting to a “good cop, bad cop” strategy.
Stuart’s frustration boils over during a confrontation with Enrico, inciting an emotional response from the actor and creating tension within the duo. They eventually discover the conflict arose from a prank orchestrated by Enrico’s neighbor, who had created a TikTok account mocking the actor after an unfortunate parking mishap. This revelation allows Rick and Stuart to turn the tables, causing the neighbor to withdraw charges against Enrico.
Later, Rick delivers the case’s resolution to Enrico, who expresses dissatisfaction with the outcomes, revealing a deeper insecurity tied to his children’s admiration for their neighbor. In a bid to reconnect with his family, Rick proposes an idea to feature Enrico on the neighbor’s TikTok stream, hoping to mend the actor’s strained relationship with his kids.
As the episode wraps up, Stuart acknowledges his previous behavior and hints at a potential reconciliation with Ted, setting the stage for further character development. The upcoming episode, titled “You’re On Your Own,” is scheduled to air on March 23 at 9 p.m. on NBC and will be available for streaming on Peacock shortly after.
