Director Sukumar Shares Insights on Ram Charan’s Game Changer
Ram Charan’s highly anticipated film, Game Changer, is set to premiere in theaters on January 10, coinciding with the festive celebration of Pongal. In a recent pre-release event held in Dallas, acclaimed director Sukumar, known for his recent success with Pushpa 2, unveiled his first impressions of the film, which is directed by S Shankar and also stars Kiara Advani.
Sukumar, who has previously collaborated with Ram Charan on the film Rangasthalam, shared warm anecdotes about his relationship with the actor and his family. He recounted watching Game Changer with Ram Charan’s father, the legendary actor Chiranjeevi. Reflecting on their past collaboration, Sukumar expressed a deep connection with Ram Charan, stating, “When a film is made, my relationship with it remains the same. Even after Rangasthalam, my bond with Charan and his family has not changed. He is like a brother to me, and I cherish that deeply.”
During the discussion, Sukumar offered a candid review of Game Changer. He praised the film’s narrative structure, describing the first half as “awesome” and the interval as a “blockbuster.” He particularly emphasized the film’s second half, noting that the flashback sequence left him with goosebumps, highlighting its emotional impact. “It was phenomenal, and I couldn’t help but feel the intensity during that part of the film,” he remarked.
Furthermore, Sukumar compared Game Changer to director S Shankar’s previous works, including Gentleman and Bharateeyudu, indicating that he found great enjoyment in Game Changer, aligning it with the quality of Shankar’s other acclaimed films. He conveyed his belief that Ram Charan’s performances have consistently warranted recognition and referred specifically to the actor’s emotional depth displayed in Game Changer, predicting that it could earn him a National Award. “I was confident Ram Charan would receive a National Award for his role in Rangasthalam, and after seeing his work in this film, I feel strongly that he deserves it again,” said Sukumar.
In Game Changer, Ram Charan takes on the role of an IAS officer dedicated to combating corruption within the political landscape, further showcasing his versatility as an actor and his commitment to impactful storytelling.
