Real Women Have Curves: The Musical is a vibrant, uplifting production filled with humor and empowerment. The storyline follows Ana García, a high school senior aspiring to escape her East Los Angeles life. However, when her family is tasked with completing a significant order for 200 dresses, Ana must balance her dreams, her mother’s traditional expectations, and the collective efforts of women striving to overcome adversity.

This adaptation draws inspiration from the original play by Josefina López, which also led to the popular film. Directed and choreographed by esteemed Tony and Olivier Award winner Sergio Trujillo, the musical features a score with music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning Joy Huerta and composer Benjamin Velez, with a book co-written by Lisa Loomer and Nell Benjamin. The music supervision is entrusted to Nadia DiGiallonardo.

Tatianna Córdoba makes her Broadway debut as the ambitious Ana. The cast also includes Justina Machado, known for her roles in “One Day at a Time” and “Pulse,” as Ana’s mother, Carmen, who holds traditional views for her daughter’s future. Florencia Cuenca, making her Broadway debut, plays Estela, alongside Shelby Acosta as Prima Flaca, Carla Jimenez in her Broadway debut as Pancha, and Aline Mayagoitia as Itzel. The ensemble is rounded out by Mauricio Mendoza as Raúl, Mason Reeves as Henry, Jennifer Sánchez as Rosalí, Sandra Valls as Prima Fulvia, and a talented group of dancers and actors including Ariana Burks, Quincy Hampton, Zeus Mendoza, and others.
