Tay-K Found Guilty of Murder in Texas
A jury in Bexar County, Texas, has convicted rapper Tay-K of murder, as reported by News 4 San Antonio. This marks the second murder conviction for the artist known for the viral hit “The Race.”
The prosecution in Bexar County alleged that Tay-K shot and killed a 23-year-old photographer, Mark Anthony Saldivar, in April 2017 while evading law enforcement after escaping from house arrest.
Significantly, the jury’s verdict was for murder rather than capital murder, which has mandatory life imprisonment. As a result, Tay-K now faces a sentence ranging from five to 99 years in prison.
Currently, Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor Travon McIntyre, is already serving a 55-year sentence for his role in a home invasion and robbery that resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man, Ethan Walker, in Tarrant County, Texas, back in 2016.
Tay-K drew national attention in June 2017 when the U.S. Marshals Service sought his arrest, labeling him a “violent fugitive.” Shortly after this announcement, he released “The Race,” a track that has garnered over 251 million views on YouTube.
At the time of the Tarrant County incident, Tay-K was just 16 years old, and he was 17 during the events leading to his conviction in Bexar County. He is currently 24 years old.
