Murder Charge Filed Against Texas Man Following Mother’s Death
A tragic incident in Fort Worth, Texas, has led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man, Alexander Taylor Valdez, in connection with the brutal murder of his mother, 58-year-old Teresita Sayson. Reports indicate that Valdez was charged with murder after police were alerted to the gruesome scene.
On the morning of April 18, police received a call from an anonymous individual who mentioned receiving a disturbing photo on Snapchat. The image reportedly depicted a woman lying on the ground, covered in blood.
Upon arriving at the residence, officers encountered Valdez, who had blood visible on his face, neck, and clothing. He was reportedly holding a Bible and informed the responding officers that “it was an exorcism.”
Entering the home, authorities discovered Sayson in the master bedroom, where she was found with severe blunt force injuries to her head and body. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Additionally, a deceased dog was found in the same room alongside a broken jewelry box that contained blood and human hair, leading investigators to suspect a violent confrontation had taken place.
While being questioned by police, Valdez allegedly admitted to practicing witchcraft with the intent to kill his mother. He also acknowledged the presence of a dead body in the house, directly referencing his mother.
According to the arrest affidavit, Valdez reportedly shared the graphic photo of the crime scene with friends in a Snapchat group chat, prompting some to arrive at the home. During this time, one friend discouraged others from viewing the image, while another took it upon themselves to show the police.
After being taken into custody and transported to the police homicide office, Valdez opted to remain silent and requested legal representation. His bond has been set at $750,000, as noted in Tarrant County Jail records.
This troubling case highlights the complexities of mental health and familial relationships, raising questions about the factors that may have contributed to such a horrific act.
