Authorities in Houston are on the lookout for a man who reportedly crashed his Ford Expedition into a ditch at speeds reaching 100 miles per hour, subsequently fleeing the scene and leaving his injured family behind.
According to local news reports, the incident occurred when the father, driving with his wife and four children, collided with a pickup truck. Surveillance footage obtained by Houston Police Department (HPD) shows the Expedition speeding on Yale Street before a Chevy Avalanche abruptly turns in front of it, resulting in a violent crash that sent the SUV flipping into a ditch.

Investigators estimate the SUV was traveling at approximately 100 miles per hour when the accident took place. An 8-year-old boy was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, while the other children, appearing to be toddlers, also sustained injuries.
Reports indicate that, although the driver of the pickup truck was unhurt, members of the Expedition’s family were taken to the hospital, with two individuals listed in serious condition and three in critical condition.
Following the crash, authorities stated that the driver of the Expedition fled the scene, reportedly getting picked up by another vehicle. Captain Ryan Watson of HPD commented on the situation, expressing his uncertainty regarding the driver’s thought process at the time of the accident. “I have no idea what’s going through his mind,” Watson noted, emphasizing that investigators are actively pursuing leads to locate the driver and gain insight into the circumstances of the crash.
A Houston police car is seen at various events, indicative of the department’s ongoing community presence and public safety efforts. As of now, law enforcement continues to search for the driver of the Ford Expedition.
