About *MAYBE HAPPY ENDING*

*Maybe Happy Ending* has found its place on Broadway, showcasing a touching love story through its unique lens. The musical stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Darren Criss alongside Helen J Shen, who is making her Broadway debut. Centered around two unconventional characters, the narrative unfolds as they navigate their lives on the brink of obsolescence, showcasing the notion that even robots can experience the thrills of romance.

This Richard Rodgers Award-winning production is directed by Tony Award winner Michael Arden and features innovative scenic design by Dane Laffrey. The book, music, and lyrics come from the acclaimed artistic duo Will Aronson and Hue Park. The storyline immerses audiences in a one-room apartment in the bustling heart of Seoul, where Oliver, a retired Helperbot 3, spends his days listening to jazz and tending to his beloved plant. When Claire, a neighbor in need of a charger, brings an unexpected twist to his routine, an awkward encounter blossoms into a meaningful friendship that evolves into an adventure—and perhaps love.

Before making its Broadway debut, the one-act musical premiered in Seoul, South Korea, at Lifeway Hall in DCF Daemyung Cultural Factory in 2016. Following its original engagement, it toured various locations including Japan, China, and Atlanta, earning the Korean Musical Award for Musical of the Year in 2019. Initially presented in both Korean and English under the title *What I Learned From People*, workshops of the show were conducted in New York City in 2016, as part of the Wooran Cultural Foundation’s inaugural overseas development initiative. Discover the small yet profound elements that give life meaning in *Maybe Happy Ending*.
