Motorola Unveils the 2025 Moto G Stylus: A Competitive Mid-Range Option
In a market where smartphones with integrated styluses often come at a steep price, the latest smartphone from Motorola provides an attractive alternative. The Moto G Stylus 2025 has been officially announced, retaining a budget-friendly price of $400 while introducing significant enhancements over its predecessor.
True to Motorola’s design philosophy, the new Moto G Stylus boasts a contoured back made from vegan leather. It will be available in two distinct colors, Gibraltar Sea and Surf the Web, offering consumers a choice between a deep navy and a vibrant lighter blue. There are hints from Motorola that additional color options may be introduced in the future, adding to the phone’s appeal.
While the specifications of the Moto G Stylus 2025 present a well-rounded device, they shy away from groundbreaking advancements. It is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, which operates at a marginally higher clock speed compared to the Gen 1 chipset found in the previous year’s model. The base variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with a higher tier offering 256GB storage but retaining the same RAM capacity.

Equipped with a robust 5,000 mAh battery, the Moto G Stylus aims for excellent longevity, with promises of more than 40 hours of typical usage. Its fast charging capabilities are noteworthy, supporting 68 W wired charging via USB-PD and 15 W wireless charging. Notably, this level of charging efficiency can be found in only a few flagship devices today.
Elevating the Mid-Range Experience
Motorola has made strides in enhancing the display quality, upgrading to a 6.7-inch pOLED panel with a resolution of 2,712 x 1,220. The display maintains the smooth 120 Hz refresh rate from its predecessor but now boasts a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, significantly outshining last year’s model. Although we have yet to experience the display in person, the specifications suggest it rivals displays typically found on more premium devices.
Furthermore, the stylus feature—central to the phone’s identity—has also seen improvement. Motorola claims the stylus is now 6.4 times more responsive. However, it remains a capacitive tool rather than an advanced active stylus like those offered with higher-end Samsung devices. With enhancements that reportedly lower latency, users can expect a more responsive and less laggy writing and drawing experience.
