The Bold and the Beautiful Secures Future with Renewal for Three Additional Seasons
The Bold and the Beautiful has officially received confirmation for its continuation beyond Season 38, with CBS announcing the exciting renewal on April 8. This beloved soap opera has been granted an extension for an impressive three more seasons, ensuring its place on the airwaves at least until Season 41 during the 2027-2028 television season.
Since its debut in March 1987, the show has captivated viewers with the intertwining stories surrounding three families entrenched in the high-stakes fashion world of Los Angeles. Anchored within CBS’s daytime programming, The Bold and the Beautiful joins popular titles such as The Young and the Restless and Beyond the Gates, consistently drawing in an audience of nearly 3.2 million viewers. The series recently marked its 38th anniversary, a testament to its enduring appeal and cultural significance.
The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring iconic characters portrayed by John McCook as Eric Forrester and Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan—both of whom have been integral to the show since its inception. Their long-standing commitment to their roles has set a remarkable precedent within the industry.
Executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell shared insights with TV Insider earlier this year, noting the uniqueness of the continued loyalty displayed by McCook and Lang. “It’s unnatural for actors to take on a role and play it this long. By nature, they take on different parts and become different characters, but these two— their commitment to the show, their love for the show and their leadership, on and off screen, are a dream,” he remarked, expressing profound gratitude for their ongoing contributions.
Furthermore, Bell reflected on the milestone of reaching 38 years of storytelling. “When we started B&B, Y&R was in the 3,000s in episode numbers. Reaching episode 4,000 felt monumental. Now, here we are at episode 9,504, and the numbers are truly staggering.” He went on to ponder the depth of his dedication, saying, “Sometimes I look in the mirror and think, ‘You’ve spent your whole life doing this. Are you crazy?’ But then I remember what a wonderful life it’s been, crafting stories, having fun, and connecting with viewers who care about these characters is incredibly special.”
