The Conners Prepares for Final Season with Guest Star Zoe Perry
The Conners is set to bring a familiar face to its seventh and ultimate season on ABC, as Zoe Perry, known for her role in Young Sheldon and the daughter of Laurie Metcalf, joins the show as a guest star.
As reported by TV Line, Perry will feature alongside her mother, Metcalf, who portrays Aunt Jackie, across two episodes. In her role, she will play a police officer who confronts Jackie regarding her thoughts on rejoining the police force at this stage in her life. This storyline ties back to a key aspect of Jackie’s character, who was part of the Lanford Police Department starting in Season 2 of the original Roseanne series.
Jackie’s character has undergone a variety of career shifts since her tenure at Wellman Plastics, eventually opening The Lunch Box with her sister Roseanne (played by Roseanne Barr). After retiring, Jackie passed the family business to her great-niece, Harris (Emma Kenney), the daughter of Darlene (Sara Gilbert).
The sixth season finale hinted that both Jackie and Dan (John Goodman) might not be ready for retirement, as they ponder the possibility of new jobs to support Mark’s (Ames McNamara) college education.
Fans of both The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon know that Metcalf and Perry have portrayed Mary Cooper, with Metcalf being the original actress and Perry stepping into a younger version in the prequel series. Recently, Perry also reprised her role as Mary in CBS’s spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
Moreover, long-time viewers may recall that Perry portrayed a youthful Jackie in several episodes of Roseanne. Her guest appearance in The Conners thus signifies a return to the beloved television franchise.
As anticipation builds for Perry’s upcoming role, fans should prepare for the final season of The Conners on ABC.
