About the Show
This adaptation draws inspiration from the acclaimed novel by Mark Haddon, focusing on the journey of Christopher, a 15-year-old boy endowed with remarkable mathematical abilities yet struggling with everyday social interactions. His experiences are shaped by a unique perspective that limits his independence and increases his apprehension of the outside world, as he has never ventured beyond his immediate neighborhood.
The narrative unfolds at the stroke of midnight, when Christopher discovers his neighbor’s dog, Wellington, has been killed with a garden fork. Facing suspicion from those around him, he resolves to unravel the mystery surrounding the dog’s demise. Despite his father’s disapproval of his investigation, Christopher’s quest leads him along a captivating path that ultimately challenges his understanding of life and relationships.
Executive Producer and Co-Director Steven D. Morris expressed his enthusiasm for the production, stating, “This performance is a chance for Theatre Arlington to explore new artistic dimensions through its impressive technical capabilities. Co-Director and Technical Director, Bryan Stevenson, is committed to using innovative approaches to elevate this beautiful story. With a talented cast and design team, we are poised to create an enchanting experience for our audience. I eagerly anticipate sharing this production with everyone.”
