Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” Achieves Remarkable Ratings Growth
Comedy Central’s iconic program, “The Daily Show,” has marked a significant milestone by achieving its highest quarterly share of adults aged 18-49 since 2015, according to exclusive data from TheWrap.
In the first quarter of 2025, the show garnered a share of 3.94, reflecting a 13% increase from the previous year’s share of 3.48. This performance is noteworthy as it also represents the best results for “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” since his return to the program in early 2024. Notably, the share among the coveted 18-49 demographic soared by 48%, reaching 5.76 in Q1 2025 compared to 3.8 in the final quarter of 2024.
Jon Stewart’s Monday episodes have captivated audiences, averaging 1.34 million total viewers in the first quarter of 2025, which is a 5% rise from the 1.27 million viewers recorded in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Dominating the late-night landscape, “The Daily Show” has emerged as the top-rated series on Mondays among adults aged 18-49. Additionally, the program has excelled in social media engagement, becoming the most-viewed cable show on social platforms in March. It experienced a remarkable 32% increase in views, totaling 1.6 billion, while engagements skyrocketed by 145%, culminating in 113 million interactions.
Stewart’s return in January 2024 was initially planned to last only until the conclusion of the 2024 presidential election; however, he has extended his hosting duties on Monday nights into 2025.
Beyond Stewart’s segments, the show features contributions from a diverse team of hosts, including Michael Kosta, Desi Lydic, Jordan Klepper, and Ronny Chieng, who currently lead the remaining episodes.
With an executive production role that extends through 2025 and potentially beyond, Stewart is poised to influence the program’s direction alongside showrunner Jen Flanz and his long-time manager, James “Babydoll” Dixon.
“The Daily Show” airs Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m. EST on Comedy Central and is available for streaming the following day on Paramount+.
