Excitement Builds for the Upcoming Devil May Cry Series on Netflix
Fans of the renowned video game franchise Devil May Cry have much to look forward to with the recent release of a new trailer. However, a warning: the nostalgic tune “Last Resort” by Papa Roach may linger in your mind long after you’ve watched it. The two-minute clip highlights key characters, including Dante and his twin brother Vergil.
One of the entertaining highlights from the trailer features a playful exchange between Dante and Lady. When Lady tears off Dante’s shirt, he quips, “Ripped and irresistible dream boat, I know. You still can’t just tear a guy’s clothes off.” This clever dialogue, combined with dynamic action scenes, intensifies the anticipation for the Devil May Cry animated series.
The adaptation of Capcom’s popular game has been in development for several years. After a teaser was unveiled in 2023, fans received confirmation that the series would debut on Netflix on April 3. Produced by the Korean animation studio Studio Mir, this series marks the second attempt to bring Devil May Cry to the screen, following a 12-episode anime that aired in Japan in 2007.
For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Netflix provides this summary for the upcoming Devil May Cry show: “Sinister forces are at play at the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon hunter for hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”
With a mix of humor and high-octane action, the series promises to attract both long-time fans of the video game and new viewers alike. As the premiere date approaches, excitement continues to build around this unique adaptation.
