Star-Studded Premiere of Netflix’s The Four Seasons in Hollywood
The Hollywood premiere of Netflix’s highly anticipated miniseries, The Four Seasons, took place last Thursday, featuring a lineup of modern comedy icons. Created by Tina Fey, the series showcases a friendly group of middle-class couples enjoying vacations together throughout the year. This adaptation of the classic 1981 rom-com originally penned by Alan Alda has provided Fey the platform to assemble a remarkable cast filled with both established stars and emerging talent.
The chemistry among the cast members was immediately apparent, particularly noted by Kerri Kenney-Silver, who portrays Anne, a character marked by her indecisiveness. “On the second day of shooting, a crew member asked about our previous collaborations, and I realized I had never met any of these people before,” Kenney-Silver shared during her red carpet interview. She praised the relatable and inviting world crafted by the show’s creators, including co-creator and executive producer Tracey Wigfield and co-executive producer Lang Fisher. “It’s all in the writing, and when you combine that with such talented individuals, it’s like a family,” she added.
Steve Carell described his role as Nick, who grapples with discontent in his life, and remarked on the unexpected synergy among the cast. “It’s astonishing how everything came together,” he expressed. “Having such remarkable talent in one place feels almost supernatural. Beyond their performances, everyone was genuinely kind. The whole experience was not just enjoyable but transformative—truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Marco Calvani, who plays Claude, expressed his gratitude for working alongside two-time Oscar nominee Colman Domingo. Domingo, unable to attend the premiere due to other filming commitments, shares a strong friendship with Calvani that enhances their on-screen dynamic. “Having known Colman for a while now made a significant difference in our performances. He is incredibly generous and supportive as both a friend and actor. Being around him not only built my confidence but also deepened our connection,” Calvani reflected.
Calvani emphasized the authenticity of his characters’ relationship, saying, “Although they face challenges triggered by the crises of their friends, at the heart of it, these two truly love each other.” The narrative promises to explore the nuances of relationships amid life’s ups and downs.
Fey balanced her dual roles as both an actor and executive producer throughout the filming process but still found joy in the experience. “Filming the summer segments in Puerto Rico was unforgettable for me,” she said. “I had never been there before, and being in that vibrant atmosphere with everyone was particularly unique and enjoyable.”
The premiere also saw Fey reuniting with her comedy partner, Amy Poehler, who embraced her warmly on the red carpet, much to the excitement of fans and media alike. Carell’s former co-stars from The Office, Ed Helms and Creed Bratton, were also present, indicating the camaraderie shared within this talented circle.
The audience’s enthusiastic laughter during the screening of the first two episodes reflects the show’s promising potential as it gears up for its release on May 1 on Netflix.
