The Hard Quartet Unveils Debut Single and Announces Live Tour Dates
The Hard Quartet, a newly formed band featuring notable musicians Stephen Malkmus, Matt Sweeney of Chavez, Jim White from Dirty Three, and Emmett Kelly of the Cairo Gang, has officially released their first single. Titled “Earth Hater,” the track is accompanied by a visually captivating claymation music video directed by Eyedress.
In “Earth Hater,” Malkmus takes center stage as the lead vocalist. His performance, combined with the band’s signature fuzzy filter, creates a sound that will resonate with fans of his previous work alongside the Jicks, while offering a fresh indie-rock experience.
The band has also revealed plans for their inaugural live performances, set to occur this autumn. The tour kicks off in Los Angeles on October 10, featuring support acts such as Papa M, Weak Signal, and Tubs. Following the Los Angeles show, they will perform in New York and London. A announcement mentions that the Hard Quartet intends to “tour extensively in 2025.” Below is a complete list of their upcoming tour dates:
