The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Unveils New B-Sides Compilation
The indie pop band The Pains of Being Pure at Heart is set to release a new album that compiles some of their lesser-known tracks. Titled Perfect Right Now: A Slumberland Collection 2008-2010, this B-sides compilation is scheduled to drop on February 7. Fans can also revisit the music video for the band’s 2010 hit “Say No to Love” as part of the album’s promotional material.
Kip Berman, the band’s frontman, reflected on the significance of these songs in a recent statement. He noted that many tracks, much like those from their debut record, were born from a time characterized by imagination and aspiration, even if they didn’t fully represent their musical capabilities at that moment. “There is nothing better than making music with your friends,” Berman expressed, recalling the band’s early days filled with dreams of global stardom, albeit with a tongue-in-cheek nod to their small fanbase on Myspace.
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart announced their disbandment in 2019, at which point Berman began creating music under the name Natvral. However, to the delight of fans, the group recently revealed plans to reunite for a series of concerts slated for 2025.
The upcoming album Perfect Right Now: A Slumberland Collection 2008-2010 will feature the following tracks:
01 Kurt Cobain‘s Cardigan
02 Come Saturday
03 Ramona
04 The Pains of Being Pure at Heart
05 Side Ponytail
06 Higher Than the Stars
07 103
