What you need to know
Google has begun the rollout of its pollen tracker feature within the Pixel Weather app for users in the United States. This functionality, which first debuted in the United Kingdom, Denmark, France, and Italy last year, was later extended to Japan in 2025. The pollen tracker is situated at the bottom of the city view within the app, offering an expandable and customizable interface.
As reported by 9to5Google, this update features user-friendly charts that display daily pollen levels on a scale from 0 to 4, while also breaking down specific pollen counts for grasses, trees, and weeds.
The pollen tracker was initially introduced during the October 2024 Pixel Feature Drop, but it was restricted to select countries. Following its recent success in those regions, it is now being made available for U.S. users through a gradual server-side deployment.
By default, the pollen tracker will be visible in a pill format at the bottom of the Pixel Weather page for users’ respective locations. The app allows for customization, enabling users to reposition the pollen tracker higher on the page for easier access.
The pollen tracker is accessible in version 1.0.20250315 of the Pixel Weather app, which was last updated on April 10, further indicating that this feature is rolling out via a server-side mechanism.
Upon tapping the tracker, users can access a comprehensive view that includes a five-day forecast. This detailed view presents information on grass, tree, and weed pollen, alongside seasonality trends and cross-reaction pollen data.
It is worth noting that the rollout of the pollen tracker is still underway, so it may take additional time for all Pixel devices in U.S. cities to receive this feature. Users eager to preview the pollen tracker can do so by adding cities from regions where the feature is already supported, such as the United Kingdom, Denmark, France, Japan, or Italy.
