HMD Begins Android 15 Rollout for Pulse Pro
HMD Global has been making notable strides with its smartphone offerings, although the frequency and reliability of software updates have occasionally raised concerns among users. Nevertheless, the company remains committed to fulfilling its update promises. For instance, the HMD Pulse Pro is set to receive a pair of significant software updates along with three years dedicated to security patches.
The rollout of Android 15 has officially commenced for the Pulse Pro. Reports have circulated indicating that some devices are already receiving the over-the-air (OTA) update, which is approximately 3.12GB in size and encompasses security patches for December 2024. This update is expected to introduce significant enhancements in performance, alongside improvements in privacy, security features, adaptive battery management, and refined notification controls.
This OTA will be distributed globally; however, it will occur in batches, meaning that not all users will access it at the same time.
While HMD has been criticized for its lack of transparency regarding official update timelines, certain devices and series have been confirmed to receive Android 15, including:
- Nokia G42 5G
- Nokia G60 5G
- Nokia XR21 5G
- Nokia X30 5G
- HMD Pulse series
- HMD Crest series
- HMD Fusion
- HMD Skyline
- HMD XR21 5G
- HMD T21
While it’s unclear if all these updates will be delivered before the conclusion of 2024, many users may expect to receive them by early 2025.
