The Rolling Stones Cancel 2025 Tour Plans

The iconic rock band, The Rolling Stones, has decided to forgo a planned U.K. and European tour scheduled for 2025. As reported by The Times, the band has opted not to take the stage this year.

Sources indicate that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood declined multiple concert offers for the summer due to various logistical challenges, including venue availability and travel complications, along with existing commitments that restrict their schedule.

Among the proposals rejected was a lucrative opportunity to perform at Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium, which would have seen the band conduct four concerts at the prominent London venue. Other suggested locations included notable cities such as Paris, Barcelona, and Rome.

The Times has reported that the band is still looking forward to touring in 2026, not only in the U.K. but in various locations around the world. Fans are particularly hopeful that Ronnie Wood will join Rod Stewart at the legendary Glastonbury festival in June.

As of now, the band has not made an official announcement regarding these tour plans. A representative has yet to provide a comment following inquiries from Rolling Stone.

The Stones last graced stages in 2024, promoting their 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds, which included a robust series of 20 concerts across North America. According to The Times, the tour was a significant success, with 880,000 tickets sold, yielding an impressive revenue of $235 million. This large-scale production involved extensive preparations, including rehearsals for over 60 of the band’s renowned songs and special performances following the album’s debut in London, capped by a pop-up concert in New York City.

Lighting designer Patrick Woodroffe shared insights with Rolling Stone about the tour’s authentic presentation, stating, “I never want it to look too slick. This band is really authentic… Audiences will always be able to spot whether a performance is the real thing or not.” He emphasized the personal connection between the music and the audience, suggesting that each performance is an intrinsic part of both the band’s and fans’ lives.

Furthermore, Woodroffe remarked on the unpredictability of the band’s future performances, noting, “You will never know when the Stones are going to do their last performance. None of us will. And not because there’s any mystique about it, it’s just the way they work. They finish a tour and go off on holiday, then tour promoters will offer them new dates, and they’ll go, ‘Yes,’ and off we’ll go.”
