Kangana Ranaut Attends ‘The Sabarmati Report’ Screening
Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, who previously garnered attention for her remarks about fellow actor Vikrant Massey, was present at the screening of his new film, The Sabarmati Report, held at the Balyogi Auditorium within Delhi’s Parliament Library Building.
The film centers around the tragic events associated with the Godhra train incident of 2002. Following the screening, Ranaut expressed her views, labeling the film as “very important” and praising its representation of historical narratives.
Ranaut emphasized that the film illuminates critical aspects of the nation’s past, suggesting that significant truths were obscured by previous administrations. This reflection comes against the backdrop of Ranaut’s past comment from 2021, when she referred to Massey as a “cockroach” after he posted about Yami Gautam’s wedding. Her sharp retort at the time highlighted the tension between them, yet the two appeared to have set aside past grievances during this event.
The screening not only attracted Ranaut but also Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, along with NDA MPs, attended a special showing of the film. Reports indicate that Modi was visibly moved by the film’s presentation of such a pivotal moment in Indian history.
The event also saw the presence of prominent NDA leaders and Union Ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Kiren Rijiju, among others, underlining the political significance of the film.
Post-screening, Modi commended the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication, sharing his appreciation in a message on X, where he acknowledged, “Joined fellow NDA MPs at a screening of ‘The Sabarmati Report.’ I commend the makers of the film for their effort.”
The cast and crew were present in full force, including Vikrant Massey, Riddhi Dogra, director Dheeraj Sarna, and veteran actor Jeetendra, representing producer Ekta Kapoor. The film captures the heartbreaking incidents of the 2002 Godhra train tragedy, inviting both reflection and discourse on the events that shaped a significant chapter in India’s history.
