According to Baz Bamigboye at Deadline, plans are underway for a New York City staging of Thomas Ostermeier’s latest adaptation of Chekhov’s classic, The Seagull, featuring Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett. Although discussions are ongoing, no contracts have been signed yet.
Insider sources express optimism about securing a New York engagement within the next year. Possible venues under consideration include the Park Avenue Armory, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), and the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center.
