Recently, the tech community has focused on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400, a flagship system-on-chip (SoC) released last year, along with its enhanced variant, the Dimensity 9400+, which was unveiled shortly before. However, another version, the Dimensity 9400e, has emerged, drawing attention primarily due to its association with the upcoming vivo X200 FE, which is expected to feature this chip.
The Dimensity 9400e is positioned as the budget-friendly alternative within the Dimensity 9400 series. In this hierarchy, the 9400+ stands at the top, followed by the standard 9400, and finally, the 9400e caters to more cost-sensitive users while still delivering impressive performance. There are also rumors that OnePlus plans to incorporate the Dimensity 9400e in its next Ace 5 model, joining the current Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro in their smartphone lineup.

Expected benchmarks suggest that the Dimensity 9400e could outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, subsequently surpassing the newly unveiled Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 as well. This positions the 9400e as a formidable competitor, likely entering the market at a lower price point compared to its Snapdragon counterparts, reflecting the typical pricing trends between MediaTek’s Dimensity 9 series and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 series.
