Sundance Head Recovering After Accidental Shooting Incident
Sundance Head, who gained fame as the 2016 champion of “The Voice,” is currently recuperating following an accidental shooting that occurred at his Texas ranch. His publicist provided details of the incident to CBS News.
The 46-year-old artist, born Jason Head, was attempting to secure a firearm when it unintentionally discharged. According to publicist Trey Newman, the gun “slipped out of the holster, hit the side of the jeep and discharged into his stomach area.” Fortunately, the bullet narrowly avoided striking any vital organs, and Head is anticipated to make a complete recovery.
Following the event, Head’s wife, Misty, shared updates on his condition via his official Facebook page, expressing her gratitude for the support received and appealing for prayers.
In her message, Misty recounted that after being shot, Head managed to make his way to the road to signal for help. “He’s so lucky and grateful to be alive,” she noted, thanking the Good Samaritan who came to their aid, as well as the quick response from medical personnel.
She explained that the bullet became lodged in the fatty tissue of his stomach, emphasizing that his larger stature may have contributed to preventing any serious internal damage. “Prayers answered as no internal damage was done by the bullet. Thank you all for the prayers,” she added.
Sundance Head’s career began on “American Idol” in 2007, where he introduced himself as the son of notable musician Roy Head. With his powerful voice and compelling performances, he later captured the attention of viewers on “The Voice,” joining Blake Shelton’s team and ultimately clinching the title.
