Lenovo Set to Unveil Successor to Legion Tab Gen 3

Recent revelations suggest that Lenovo is gearing up for the launch of a new version of its popular gaming-oriented tablet, the Legion Tab Gen 3. This successor is expected to feature several enhancements, including an upgraded display and powerful processing capabilities.

According to a leak from 9to5Google, the refreshed Legion Tab might debut as soon as May. The new model is anticipated to keep the same 8.8-inch size but will upgrade to a 3K LCD display, maintaining its impressive 165Hz refresh rate—an improvement over the current 2560×1600 panel.

While the existing screen offers a strong performance, there is a growing desire among users for an AMOLED display, which would provide richer colors and deeper blacks, enhancing the tablet’s capability as a media device.

On the hardware front, the new Legion Tab is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, significantly enhancing its gaming performance. Additionally, battery capacity may see an increase, potentially reaching between 7,000 and 8,000mAh. Notably, reports indicate that the upcoming model will have a slimmer profile, despite the added battery capacity.

Further enhancements could include dual X-axis haptic motors and upgraded dual speakers, all aimed at elevating the user experience for both gaming and media consumption. A leaker has also hinted at a “competing product” set to launch in June, although details on this remain limited.

A critical consideration for potential buyers is the availability timeline. The previous model, the Legion Tab Gen 3, experienced delays in reaching the United States market following its launch in China. If the new iteration follows suit, U.S. consumers might find themselves waiting longer for access. However, there is hope that Lenovo might expedite the process this time around.
