FIRST ON FOX: A nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for patient rights has unveiled a billboard in Times Square, New York City, expressing support for President Donald Trump, highlighting a crucial healthcare promise he fulfilled within his initial 100 days in office.

This billboard, installed by PatientsRightsAdvocate.org (PRA), will be on display from April 28 to May 4, promoting Trump’s executive order signed in February, which mandates greater price transparency in healthcare from the departments of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services.

“President Trump delivers healthcare price transparency,” states the billboard, which features an image of Trump depicted as Superman. “First 100 Days!”

Trump’s order calls for these departments to “rapidly implement and enforce” healthcare price transparency regulations, asserting that the Biden administration has hindered their progress.

The initiative aims to ensure that hospitals and insurers reveal actual prices rather than estimates, facilitating price comparisons among these entities, including for prescription drugs.

PRA notes that over one in three Americans have delayed or avoided medical care due to apprehensions about unpredictable costs, contributing to medical debt that affects 100 million individuals—the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the United States.

“The scale of President Trump’s commitment to implementing ‘radical’ price transparency in healthcare is unprecedented,” stated Cynthia Fisher, founder and chairman of PatientRightsAdvocate.org.

“Patients will soon gain access to actual prices, not merely estimates, ahead of receiving care. Transparent pricing fosters a competitive market, enabling consumers to benefit from better options and reduced costs,” Fisher elaborated. “This shift will allow patients to choose optimal care at the best prices, providing safeguards against overcharges and fraud. We are nearing a pivotal transformation that empowers consumers to lead healthier, longer lives at a dramatically lower expense.”

Andrew Bremberg, who served as an advisor to President Trump and led the Domestic Policy Council during his first term, praised the executive order, suggesting that it further enhances Trump’s healthcare legacy with stronger price transparency measures.

“President Trump’s pledge to provide actual prices, rather than estimates, demonstrates his steadfast dedication to the American public. His vision aims to overhaul the healthcare system, with price transparency serving as a key driver,” Bremberg stated.

The executive order highlights concerns regarding current healthcare pricing discrepancies, noting instances where prices fluctuate between hospitals within the same geographic areas.

“One patient in Wisconsin saved $1,095 by comparing prices for two tests at nearby hospitals,” the statement revealed.

The White House asserted that an economic analysis indicated that full implementation of Trump’s initial price transparency rules could yield up to $80 billion in savings for consumers, employers, and insurance providers by 2025.

“The hospital initially quoted me $3,700 upfront for a basic fibroid removal surgery,” shared Arizona patient Theresa Schmotzer in a statement coinciding with the billboard’s launch. “After researching what the procedure should actually cost, I found that my out-of-pocket share was only $700. By accessing real prices, I saved $3,000. President Trump’s commitment to healthcare price transparency will empower more people to uncover genuine costs and save money.”

Across the nation, several states have been enacting similar legislative measures to enhance healthcare cost transparency, including Ohio, where new laws mandate that hospitals display precise pricing for available services in clear dollar amounts.

“Patients will have the ability to check and compare prices, enabling them to seek the highest quality care at the lowest expense,” Trump stated upon signing the executive order. “This initiative prioritizes quality care, allowing patients to consider both expertise and cost, sometimes leading to exceptional care at a lower price point. That’s an advantageous outcome.”
