Thursday afternoon promises an exciting day of competitive racing, featuring events from Ripon and Ffos Las, with live coverage available on Sky Sports Racing.
3.42 Ripon – Dakota Gold and Wobwobwob in the Spotlight
In the Armstrong Memorial Handicap, seasoned veteran Dakota Gold makes his return to the track at the impressive age of 11, carrying top weight. With 16 career victories, he concluded last season strongly with a second-place finish in the Catterick Dash and races just one pound heavier this time around, making him a serious contender.
Wobwobwob, who struggled in his previous outings, will need to regain the form that saw him win at Thirsk earlier in the season when he was running three pounds lighter.
Meanwhile, Aberama Gold has maintained solid performances against lesser competition, and last year’s champion Fortamour will attract attention as he seeks his seventh victory at this venue.
3.10 Ripon – Green Pursuit Takes on Far Above The Law
Green Pursuit, fresh off a win at Catterick despite having issues with the track, looks primed for a strong showing in the Ripon Silver Bowl Handicap. This is his second appearance under new ownership, hinting at potential for more improvement.
Far Above The Law presents a prominent challenge for trainer Alice Haynes. After securing victory in a maiden event at Chepstow, this horse has shown promise in subsequent handicaps and appears well-placed to perform admirably with Kieran O’Neill on board.
Lord Roxby, dropping in class for trainer Nigel Tinkler, and Cairdeas, making his first appearance post-gelding, are also worth considering for this race.
6.45 Ffos Las – Klic Boum and Another Fine Mess Lead the Charge
Klic Boum, frequently backed by supporters, has consistently finished in the placings this season and seems well-suited to compete with a rating of 100 in the Adept GRP Cabinets Handicap Hurdle.
Having recently secured his first hurdle victory at Warwick in February, Another Fine Mess could be in contention again, particularly if he can find a better rhythm under rider Bryan Carver.
Don’t overlook Goblet Of Fire, who wrapped up last season with a commendable third-place finish at Wetherby and continues to be lightly raced in this discipline.
Additional Races to Watch
4.50 Ripon
In the Spreadex Get £60 In Free Bets Handicap, The Outlaw and Last Shamardal are both aiming for hat-tricks. They have shown significant improvement on the all-weather tracks but will face new challenges as they transition to turf.
Flagon Dry also enters the fray as a last-time victor who appears to be on an upward trajectory, with familial connections to the accomplished Dragon Leader, suggesting he may outperform his initial rating.
1.30 ParisLongchamp
The Prix du Louvre features an intriguing lineup, headlined by the undefeated Pure Legend, who is set to compete against a field of promising contenders.
Dos Mukasan has finished two of three races successfully, while Boniface had a solid comeback at Chantilly after winning his debut. Sir Tommy Cen secured victories in his first two outings but was less impressive in Group contests, while Zarraf surprised many with a win in a potentially competitive maiden at Saint-Cloud.
Adding to the excitement, Reine De Medicis, a half-sister to Alcantor, aims to bolster her reputation following a strong debut performance and a subsequent win at Deauville.
Ultrafragola looks set to bounce back after a disappointing outcome last time, as she attempts to replicate her previous strong showing at Saint-Cloud, where she had been well-supported prior to her race.
