Investigation Launched into ICE Raid Leak in Colorado

Tom Homan, the Trump administration’s border czar, has announced that authorities are closing in on a suspect believed to be behind a significant leak concerning an ICE operation in Aurora, Colorado. This leak apparently provided crucial information to violent gang members, allowing them to avoid capture and ultimately derailing planned arrests.

On the program “Hannity,” Homan stated, “We think it’s coming from inside. And we know the first leak in Aurora is under current investigation. We think we’ve identified that person.”

The leak reportedly facilitated the escape of members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TDA), leading to a disappointing outcome for federal agents who found many of their targets missing when they arrived at planned locations. Ultimately, around 30 individuals were apprehended during the operation.

Law enforcement personnel from the Gang Unit were seen searching for evidence in Aurora following a series of events related to a reported home invasion. Homan has repeatedly highlighted the dangers posed by such leaks, stressing that they not only impede operational effectiveness but also jeopardize the safety of law enforcement officers.

“It’s just not giving the bad guys a heads-up so they can escape apprehension,” Homan asserted. “You’re putting officers’ lives at risk. It’s only a matter of time before we walk into a place where there’s going to be a bad guy [who] doesn’t care. He’s going to be sitting in wait to ambush an officer. This is not a game.”

In a related incident, the Los Angeles Times revealed another leak, this time concerning an ICE memo outlining plans for an upcoming operation targeting individuals lacking legal status and those with outstanding removal orders.

In reaction to the leak, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem took to social media, accusing the FBI of corruption. “The FBI is so corrupt,” she commented on X, previously known as Twitter. Noem pledged to collaborate with various agencies to investigate leaks and bring accountability to those involved.

Homan confirmed that much of the leaked information appears to trace back to the FBI and vowed that there would be significant repercussions for those responsible. He noted a discussion with the deputy attorney general regarding the opening of a criminal investigation, reaffirming that accountability would extend beyond job loss to possible imprisonment.

FEDERAL COURT BLOCKS TRUMP ADMIN FROM SENDING DETAINED VENEZUELAN IMMIGRANTS TO GUANTÁNAMO BAY

Attorney General Pam Bondi echoed Homan’s sentiments, warning that leaks pose a serious risk to law enforcement personnel. “If anyone leaks anything, people don’t understand that it jeopardizes the lives of our great men and women in law enforcement,” she stated. “If you leaked it, we will find out who you are, and we will come after you.”

Since assuming office, the Trump administration has intensified efforts to deport criminal migrants and has expanded cooperation with various federal entities. Recent reports have confirmed that the administration is collaborating with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to detain individuals, including transporting some to Guantánamo Bay, with plans to accommodate a significant number of detainees.

Despite the challenges posed by leaks, Homan remains resolute, insisting that ICE will continue its mission. “I’m going to double the manpower in those sanctuary cities,” he emphasized. “If we can’t get them in their homes, we’ll get them at their place of employment.”

“Sanctuary cities [are] a sanctuary for criminals, bottom line,” he added. “So, we’re going to do everything we can to find them. Regardless of what it takes, we got a strong president in the White House; he’s giving us all the authority we need. We’re coming.”
